Lawn Care

A little autumn lawn care now will help keep your grass healthy through winter and ready for spring!

As autumn arrives, give your lawn a good tidy by clearing away fallen leaves and garden debris, which can trap moisture and encourage moss and fungal problems. Once clear, give the grass a final mow, cutting it slightly shorter than usual but taking care not to scalp it.If your lawn has compacted areas, aerate it as this helps improve drainage and allows air, water and nutrients to reach the roots. An autumn lawn treatment or seasonal feed will also help strengthen the grass and encourage healthy root growth, while overseeding thin or bare patches can help create a fuller lawn next spring. Finally, tidy the lawn edges and remove any weeds. Try to avoid walking on the grass when it is frosty or waterlogged, as this can cause damage and compact the soil. A little autumn lawn care now will help your lawn stay healthy through winter and look its best when spring arrives.
