Nursery Event: Thrifty Thursday

First Thursday of the month

Please note: Thursday 7th May 2026 sale WILL be going ahead.

Thrifty is held on the first Thursday of each month 9am-12pm.The plants either come from our Nursery where they might not have flourished to their full potential, or our Centres where plants may have past their best.⁠

⁠The plants will still grow but just need some TLC⁠ and a happy home!

The Nursery cannot accept Gift Cards.

Held at: Stewarts Nursery, God’s Blessing Lane, Broomhill, BH21 7DF only, and is not held at any of our other Garden Centres.

First Tuesday of the Month, 2pm

Once a month we open the doors to our newly constructed glasshouse Nursery at our Broomhill, Wimborne site, and invite you to join us for a guided tour followed by a Homemade Cream Tea in our Coffee Shop.

See how we grow our bedding plants over the seasons, with fun facts about the glasshouse and an insight into our growing process, explaining the features, capabilities and our processes. 

Please note tours will not be held in April, May, June, November and December and each group will be a maximum of 20 people.

A scrumptious collection of finger sandwiches, scones and miniature cakes, paired with tea or coffee, to enjoy with friends or family. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free options available.

Walk-in Afternoon Tea is available, but our Coffee Shops do get busy so book ahead to guarantee a table! Bookings can be made until the night before.

Following two sell-out talks in 2025, we’re glad to welcome back the famous growers ‘David Austin Roses’ who will present their in-depth knowledge of roses, including cultivation, planting and care advice, as well as talking about their own personal favourite varieties followed by a Q&A. This talk will cover the same popular topics as last year, so if you missed out on tickets in 2025, book now as we expect tickets to be popular again.  

Your ticket will enter you into a raffle for your chance to WIN a David Austin Rose and set of Kent & Stowe Gardening Tools.

Pick up a form from the tills then collect a coloured sticker from each giant Sunflower hidden around the Garden Centre to earn a biscuit from the Coffee Shop!

Santa and his elves will be in his magical Winter Wonderland at Stewarts garden Centres to meet with boys and girls who have been good this year!

Stroll down the magical Winter Wonderland walkway, and peek through the windows of the Elf Village shops to see what you can spot! 

At the end of the walkway, meet Santa in his Grotto, where a professional elf photographer can capture your visit for an additional fee, then visit the Elves' Toy Store to pick your perfect present.
