Senior Barista - Stewarts Christchurch
Stewarts is a family-owned business established in 1742 with a history that can be tracked back eight generations. We have three Garden Centres, a Nursery and a Landscaping division all based in Dorset and Hampshire.

In our Coffee Shops we pride ourselves on serving exceptional coffee and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Barista to join our Christchurch team.
As Senior Barista you will report to the Coffee Shop Manager and play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the Coffee Shop, leading in their absence. Your passion for excellence and strong communication and leadership skills will ensure that we continue to provide an excellent customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages and menu items to customers with precision and care.
- Daily calibrations of coffee machines and grinders.
- Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive atmosphere.
- Train and mentor Coffee Shop Assistants on coffee preparation techniques, equipment operation and customer service best practices.
- Set up and close coffee, hot food and cake counters as required ensuring controls and checks are operated.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
- Maintain knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods and trends to educate customers and staff.
- Monitor stock levels, escalating to Coffee Shop Manager/Assistant Manager when orders are required.
- Work with management to develop and implement new menu items and seasonal offerings.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Contribute to the smooth running of events.
- Lead the team in the absence of the Coffee Shop Manager / Assistant Manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Passion for coffee and a commitment to delivering high-quality products and services.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership experience is an advantage.
The successful candidate will work an average of 28 hours per week including alternate weekends.
