Commis Chef - Stewarts Abbey, Titchfield
We are seeking a hardworking individual with a genuine passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a natural flair for serving beautifully presented homemade food to join our kitchen at our Abbey Coffee Shop.
As a Commis Chef you will assist in the preparation and presentation of a range of menu items while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will also have the opportunity to work in our bakery section. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills in a vibrant and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and kitchen team in daily food preparation and cooking tasks.
- Prepare ingredients for meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils and equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment (bakery experience is also an advantage).
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for food and a desire to grow within the culinary field!
The successful candidate will work an average of 17.5 hours per week across a 2-week rota;
Week 1
Wednesday and Thursday - 8.30am - 4pm
Week 2
Thursday, Saturday and Sunday - 8.30am - 4pm
