Backstage Assistant – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

We are seeking to recruit a Stores Assistant to join our busy Goods Inwards/Backstage team. Duties will include checking off paperwork and deliveries on arrival, raising credits, distributing stock to different departments/store areas, general housekeeping of the stores, customer deliveries and additional work in other parts of the store as and when required.

Applicants must possess previous retail/goods inwards experience, Counterbalance fork lift license, good communication and team working skills as well as good working knowledge of health and safety regulations. Please note that some heavy lifting will be required.

The job involves working the following days/hours:

Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with a day off during the week:
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays with 1 hour unpaid break each day and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with 30 minutes unpaid break. Average of 39.5 hours per week.

Till Operator/Relief Cashier – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

Stewarts is a family business now in its 8th Generation with not just plants at its heart. Dealing with customers as they pay for their goods is as important as our MD’s job! You will probably be the last contact our customers have following their visit to us and we want them to leave Stewarts feeling they enjoyed their shopping experience and that they would definitely come back!

An opportunity has arisen to join our customer service team working on the tills and also in the cash office as a relief cashier. Duties will include set up of tills, taking various forms of payment, advising customers on our loyalty scheme and forthcoming events and dealing with customer queries on the till. When in the cash office you will be required to complete tasks such as reconciliation of daily takings, banking and input of figures onto daily cash sheet.

Applicants must be pleasant and helpful. Must be computer literate and ideally have experience of cash handling and customer service in a similar retail environment. Please note own transport is required due to our countryside location.

The vacancy will involve working the following days/hours:

Week 1 – Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
Week 2 – Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays
Different shifts each day working an average of 34.25 hours per week

Backstage/Goods In Supervisor – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

At Stewarts, working as part of a great team is just one of our benefits! 25% of our workforce have enjoyed working here for over 10 years and we are looking for someone new to join our team in the Backstage/Goods In department at our Broomhill Garden Centre near Wimborne.

We are looking for someone who has attention to detail and high levels of organisation and who will help in developing the department, improving efficiency and working as part of the team.

As Backstage Supervisor you will be expected to run the department which will include: coordinating the team ensuring all procedures are followed, liasing with staff in other departments, ensuring there is timely receipt of all goods/deliveries including processing returns to suppliers and assisting with deliveries.

Applicants should have previous experience of managing a team and possess excellent communication, organisation and IT skills. Stock control and inventory experience is essential together with a full UK driving license as deliveries are part of the role. A forklift certificate would be an advantage along with a good working knowledge of Health & Safety regulations. Please note that some heavy lifting will be involved.

The job involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with a day off during the week. From 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Weekdays and Saturdays with 1 hour unpaid break each day and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with 30 minutes unpaid break. This will include working some of the Bank Holidays during the year.

Catering Manager – Stewarts Christchurch

Catering is a very important part of our business. We’re looking for a Catering Manager for a hands-on role in the management of our thriving Coffee Shop at Stewarts Christchurch Garden Centre.

You should have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. You’ll develop and train the team to meet our high standards of first class service, and be an excellent leader and motivator with the enthusiasm to take our Coffee Shop to the next level. You’ll also handle the administrative side; stock management, profit margins and cost control.
