Kitchen Assistant – Stewarts Christchurch

We are becoming increasingly proud of the food we offer here at Stewarts. With our food preparation facilities we are able to prepare fresh, locally sourced produce to make good quality food for our customers. Not surprisingly we are becoming increasingly busy.

We are on the lookout for a Kitchen and Food Preparation Assistant to join our team working alongside our Chefs in our busy Coffee Shop at Christchurch.

Applicants should possess catering knowledge and be able to prepare lunch and all other food as required as well as an understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.

This vacancy involves working an average of 39 hours per week, working Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with 1 fixed day off during the week.

Hours of work are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid break each day.

Catering Manager – Stewarts Abbey (Titchfield)

An 8th Generation business that knows about plants and everything about gardening. It’s our passion! But we also love good food, homemade, locally sourced or home reared, fresh and seasonal.

Catering is a very important part of our business and we are looking for a Catering Manager for a hands on role in the management of the Coffee Shop at our Garden Centre in Titchfield.

You should have at least 2 years experience within a similar role and you will be expected to supervise the operational areas and staff in a manner that ensures first class service. Cooking exceptional food will also be required. You will develop and train the team to meet the required standards, being an excellent leader and motivator. You will also handle the administrative side of catering such as stock management, profit margins and cost control.

The job involves working Mondays to Fridays and alternate weekends with a fixed day off during the week working from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Stores/Goods In Assistant – Stewarts Broomhill (Wimborne)

We are seeking to recruit a Stores Assistant to join our busy Goods Inwards/Backstage team. Duties will include checking off paperwork and deliveries on arrival, raising credits, distributing stock to different departments/store areas, general housekeeping of the stores, customer deliveries and additional work in other parts of the store as and when required.

Applicants must possess previous retail/goods inwards experience, Counterbalance fork lift license, good communication and team working skills as well as good working knowledge of health and safety regulations. Please note that some heavy lifting will be required.

The job involves working the following days/hours:

Monday to Friday and alternate weekends with a day off during the week:
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays with 1 hour unpaid break each day and 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with 30 minutes unpaid break. Average of 39.5 hours per week.

Please note own transport is required due to our countryside location.
