Permanent Landscape Gardener – Stewarts Landscaping (Wimborne)

We run a team of skilled gardeners, who carry out grounds maintenance of prestigious commercial and private grounds and gardens and we are looking to recruit a permanent gardener to join the team.

The position will include caring for the gardens and grounds, including tasks such as mowing, pruning, hedge cutting, hoeing and litter picking as required.

The appointed person MUST HAVE previous practical experience in the industry and good knowledge of plants, mainly shrubs and perennials, is able to recognise a wide variety and know their needs and requirements such as how to care for them and when to prune. References will be required.

A smart appearance will be expected with the enthusiasm to work hard and be able to work as part of an existing team or on your own as required. The candidate must have a full driving licence. Trailer licence (Category B + E) and current pesticide-spraying certificate would be an advantage.

The job involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Salary: A minimum of £8.00 per hour depending on experience (under 20’s please contact for pay rates).

Garden Shop Retail Assistant – Stewarts Christchurch

Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays (week 1) and Mondays only (week 2)
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays with 1 hour unpaid break each day.

Seasonal Till Operators – Stewarts Christchurch

Due to our busy Christmas period which is fast approaching we are on the look out for friendly outgoing people to join our Customer Service team at Christchurch working on the tills on a seasonal basis between October 2018 and mid January 2019.

Duties will include: operation of tills, serving customers and dealing with customer queries as well as possible relief work at the customer service desk. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills and enjoy delivering a high level of customer service. Previous experience as tills/cashier in a similar retail environment would be preferred.

The available vacancies are as follows:

Vacancy 1
Week 1 – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays (average of 18 hours per week)

Seasonal Trolley Helpers – Stewarts Christchurch

We are looking for two candidates to join our team of Trolley Helpers/Customer Service Assistants at our Garden Centre in Christchurch during our busy Christmas season between October and December 2018.

Duties will include providing assistance to customers, enabling them to easily locate self-service trolleys and shopper baskets, assisting customers with larger heavier items and returning trolleys left in car park to the Garden Centre. You will also be assisting other departments in store when necessary.

Applicants should possess good communication skills and enjoy delivering a high level of customer service. Please note that some heavy lifting is involved.

The vacancies available involve working the following hours:

Vacancy 1: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays (Average of 16 hours per week)

Home & Lifestyle Supervisor – Stewarts Christchurch

An opportunity has arisen to supervise our Home & Lifestyle Department on a permanent basis. We are looking for a motivated team leader, with dedication, drive and a passion for all things homely. Working with minimal managerial supervision, you are proactive with a keen eye for detail, maintaining high standards across the department. Experience in a similar retail environment is favourable.

Outdoor Living/Christmas Sales Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a part-time sales assistant to join our busy Outdoor Living & Christmas team at Stewarts in Christchurch.

Duties will include serving the public with the highest standard of customer service, taking customer orders, processing payments, replenishing stock, merchandising, general housekeeping of department and additional work in other parts of the store as and when required. Between September and December candidates will be working within our Christmas Department due to the seasonality of the business.

Previous retail experience would be an advantage but is not essential. Good communication and team working skills are also a plus.

The vacancy involves working the following days/hours:

Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (8 hours per week)

Santa’s Winter Wonderland Helpers (Elves) – Stewarts Christchurch

Here at Stewarts we always plan well ahead to make each season the best ever for our customers, and when the season to be jolly comes….well, we like to be jolly ready for it!

We are searching for Santa’s Elves to assist with the arrival and visit of children and families to the Winter Wonderland. These roles involve a variety of tasks to include welcoming visitors, administering the tickets, working inside the winter wonderland introducing children to Santa, helping him with presents and making sure everyone enjoys a more than special visit. Needless to say it takes very special people to do this, with excellent communication skills, well organised, who also enjoy entertaining children and have a good deal of patience!! If you have these qualities, then you are who we are looking for.

We will need people to help Santa on the following hours during the week and weekends:

Vacancy 1 (Weekdays): Monday to Friday (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday)
From Monday, 26th November until Monday, 24th December

Vacancy 2 (Weekends & Thursday Evenings): Saturdays and Sundays (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays) and Thursday Evenings (5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.)
